Beginning Egg Shell Engraving – Egg Art
Beginning Egg Shell Engraving – Egg Art
If you’ve never touched a high speed engraver to an eggshell, it is something you must try.
You will be amazed at how easy it is to cut through an egg shell and “end up” with an impressive piece of art.
I did it myself – I took a goose egg (cleaned out of course), inserted a 699 carbide bur into my high speed handpiece, and began to cut random designs from the shell. It was fun, it was easy – and the end result was impressive!
It’s one of those things that’s hard to mess up – even for a beginning engraver. (like myself)
In fact, after I did my first goose egg, I did another, then another, and another – it was hard to stop, each one was better than the last.
The video below shows how easy it is to turn an ordinary goose egg into “egg art”.
All you need is a goose egg, a 699 carbide bur, and a dust mask (always recommended when carving or engraving anything!).
This is one of the easiest (and least expensive) engraving projects you can do and a great place for a beginner to start.
Watch the video below to see how easy it really is.
